About this policy
This policy applies to Gumtree Hill Solutions Pty Ltd (“Gumtree Hill Solutions”, “we”, “us”). It covers personal information we handle through this website (gumtreehillsolutions.com and gumtreehillsolutions.com.au), when you contact us, and when we provide services to clients.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Each of our software products will also have its own privacy information, published before release, describing exactly what that product collects.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need for the purposes described below. This may include:
- Contact details such as your name, email address, phone number and organisation, when you email us.
- The content of your messages, including any project details or attachments you choose to send.
- Business and billing information for clients, such as billing contacts, ABN and invoice records.
- Technical information recorded automatically by our hosting provider when you visit the site, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request.
This website does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and does not load fonts or scripts from third-party services.
How we use it
- To respond to enquiries and support requests.
- To prepare proposals and deliver services we have agreed to provide.
- To issue invoices, keep business records and meet our legal and tax obligations.
- To operate, secure and troubleshoot this website.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for marketing lists unless you have asked to receive updates from us.
Disclosure to others
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only to the extent needed. These include our website hosting provider (Amazon Web Services), our email provider, and our accounting and payment providers. We may also disclose information where required by law.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider protects the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Client data
When we build or support software for a client, we may have access to personal information held in the client’s systems. We use that information only to perform the agreed work, keep it confidential, and follow the client’s instructions and any data-handling terms in our agreement. The client remains responsible for its own privacy policy covering that data.
Storage and security
We store personal information in secured, access-controlled systems with multi-factor authentication and encryption. We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as required by law, for example tax records, and then delete or de-identify it. See our security page for more detail.
Access and correction
You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@gumtreehillsolutions.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If we cannot fulfil a request, for example because the law requires us to keep a record, we will explain why.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please email support@gumtreehillsolutions.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
