Brisbane Bioinformatics
Website build and ongoing support for a not-for-profit community organisation.
Brisbane Bioinformatics (BrisBio) is a community-led, not-for-profit initiative that connects Queensland’s bioinformatics community of students, researchers, industry, training providers and infrastructure groups.
Gumtree Hill Solutions built and supports the BrisBio website, the organisation’s central hub for its events calendar, monthly seminar series, training workshops, newsletters, membership and community updates. The site also carries the program, presenters, sponsors and registration information for the annual Queensland Bioinformatics Week.
How we work
From first conversation to release
Every engagement follows the same basic shape. The size of each stage changes with the project, but you always know what is being built, what it will cost, and what comes next.
Discovery
We talk through the problem, the people who will use the software and any constraints. You receive a short written summary and a proposed approach.
Scope and quote
We agree the features for the first release and provide either a fixed-price quote or a time-and-materials estimate, in writing, before work starts.
Build
Development runs in short cycles with a working version to review every one or two weeks, so feedback arrives early rather than at the end.
Launch and support
We deploy to production or the app stores, hand over documentation, and offer ongoing maintenance, updates and support if you need it.

You own what you pay for
Source code, designs and documentation created for your project are assigned to you on payment. Your code lives in a repository you control, and your cloud and app store accounts stay in your organisation’s name.
Security from the start
Encrypted connections, least-privilege access, secrets kept out of source code, and dependency updates are part of the standard build, not optional extras.
Clear pricing and paperwork
Written quotes, agreed scope, and tax invoices from an Australian company registered for GST. Changes to scope are discussed and agreed before they are charged.
Local and easy to reach
We are based in Queensland and work with clients across Australia. You deal directly with the people building your software.
